Readers at Mass

Meeting for all Sunday Readers in St. Catherine’s this coming Saturday 9 November at 10am (after 9am Mass & Adoration). This is a refresher in the light of the new translation of the Scriptures we are required to use from Advent - see below. Deacon Charlie will lead. Readers from Alston & Appleby are welcome too, as well as those who read on weekdays but are not on a Sunday rota.

From the First Sunday of Advent, we will be using the English Standard Version – Catholic Edition & the Abbey Psalms & Canticles. This decision was made by our Bishops’ Conference for England & Wales and is the same for Scotland. We will still use the current Mass Books for the Mass texts, but for the Scripture readings we will have a pre-printed version on the back of the Newsletter each week.
